Laura Morgan

Laura is the owner and exercise specialist behind LoCo Boot Camp. She founded the outdoor fitness company to share her passion for FUN and REALISTIC training, helping people achieve goals that they never thought possible. Laura is a certified trainer by the National Exercise Trainers Association (NETA). She is the author of a monthly health and fitness column in the Bluffton Today. Laura knows first-hand the struggles people face regarding health and fitness. As a short lady blessed with a slow metabolism and a genetic predisposition toward obesity, Laura learned early in life that she would have to stay more active than most. Though not born with a runner’s body, Laura began training for her first half-marathon twenty years ago. Since then, she has run dozens of half-marathons, one full marathon, and over 100 other running races. She has also trained dozens of new runners to help them cross their first finish lines! And, you NEVER forget your first finish line! Laura also is co-founder of Carolina Cups, a local nonprofit that raises money to provide free mammograms and breast cancer research.  Laura’s commitment to breast cancer continues through LoCo. Laura’s greatest strength and passion is working with others to help them realize and accomplish goals they never thought they could. Through LoCo Boot Camp, she can inspire people every day to become the person they want to be. Wendy Powers Kelly

Wendy has been a trainer with LoCo Boot Camp since the company’s inception. She is a believer in the power of yoga, fitness and a healthy lifestyle to create positive change and works with Laura at the Hilton Head location to maximize the LoCo experience. Wendy’s teaching style is challenging and uplifting, creating classes that are accessible and beneficial to students of all levels. Wendy particularly enjoys working with exercise newcomers or other individuals that might need a little additional assistance. Check out Wendy’s yoga fitness articles at www.mostlyyoga.com. Wendy received her yoga instructor certification with the Savannah Yoga Center, a Yoga Alliance Registered School, and teaches in several locations throughout Bluffton and Hilton Head. Before becoming a yoga and fitness instructor, Wendy worked to make the world a better place through non-profit and government work. Now she’s focused on helping her students improve their fitness through yoga and mindful, effective exercise, making the world a better place through individual increases in health and happiness. Wendy lives on Hilton Head Island with her husband Bill, a realtor with Carolina Realty Group, and her Border Collie, Ned. Before moving to the Lowcountry four and a half years ago, Wendy worked in green building and community development in Pittsburgh, PA after earning a Bachelor’s of Architecture and Master’s of Sustainable Development from Carnegie Mellon University, and grew up in a small town in Central New York.

Dr. Anthony N. Mattis

Dr. Mattis resides in Bluffton South Carolina with his wife Jessica and 3 children. He has been practicing Chiropractic Wellness for 10 years. He graduated Life University School of Chiropractic in 1999 and received his Bachelors in Science degree in the field of Health and Fitness from Springfield College in 1991. Dr. Mattis is also a professional life coach in which he assists people in finding their authentic self. We were all created to reach our full potential in the gifts that we have been given. Anything short of that will bring unhappiness and ultimate lead to dis-ease. Dr. Mattis believes that in order to experience optimum health a physician must assist his patients on all levels, body, mind, and nutrition.
